Apple launched new phones in their iPhone lineup – the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and
iPhone XR at Steve Jobs Theatre, San Francisco, and it looks like the notch is here to stay.
The iPhone XS has a 5.8 inch OLED Super Retina display with a resolution of 2436 x 1125 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5 : 9 and it has a notch. It features Dolby Vision which will offer a wider color gamut. The device is powered by Apple’s latest A12 Bionic 7nm chipset, and the Neural Engine now has an 8-core configuration to improve machine learning. The device is coming with three storage variants – 64 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB.
The device has a dual camera setup at back – a 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor (f/1.8 aperture) + 12-megapixel telephoto secondary sensor (f/2.4). It also has a 6-element lens and 2x optical zoom and TrueTone quad-LED flash. The device has a 7 Megapixel front shooter with f/2.2 aperture, and it also features a new ISP, and it works with the neural engine to give the best-in-class photos, along with the new Smart HDR feature. Moreover, it has durable glass and has the IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. The device also has Face ID support to give the maximum layer of security.
The company has introduced dual SIM this year for the first time. The device also supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, and lightning. The device runs on the latest iOS 12 and it is backed on 2,716 battery along with fast charging and wireless charging support.
iPhone XS Max
iPhone X5 Max is the larger version of the iPhone X5 with a 6.5-inch OLED display which comes with a resolution of 2688 x 1242 pixels and has aspect ratio of 19:5 : 9 with a notch on the display. The battery capacity is at 3,300 mAh.
The iPhone XR has a 6.1 inch Liquid Retina HD LCD display with a resolution of 1792 x 828 pixels, along with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Moreover, it also has an oleophobic coating to protect the display from scratches. It is powered by 6-core A12 Bionic 7nm processor with Neural Engin, along with 4-core GPU. The smartphone has three storage variants – 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB.
The iPhone XR has 12 megapixel wide-angle at back with f/1.8 aperture, Portrait Mode, Depth Control, Optical Image Stabilization, Portrait Lighting (Natural, Studio, Contour), Smart HDR for photos, 5x Digital Zoom, 4K video recording at 24/30/60 FPS, 1080p video recording at 30/60 FPS, 720p video recording at 30 FPS, 1080p Slow-Motion video recording at 120/240 FPS and Quad-LED True Tone flash. It also has front shooter of a 7 TrueDepth Camera with f/2.2 aperture, Portrait Mode, Depth Control, Portrait Lighting (Natural, Studio, Contour, Stage, Stage Mono), Smart HDR for photos, Animoji, Memoji.
The device also has Face ID to give maximum security, along with IP67 dust and water resistance. For connectivity, the device supports dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac with 2×2 MIMO, NFC (with reader mode). It runs on iOS 12, and it ships on Li-Ion battery with Qi Wireless Charging.
Talking about the pricing, the iPhone XS starts at $999 (approx. ₹71,843), the iPhone XS Max starts at $1,099 (approx. ₹79,034) and iPhone XR starts at $749 (approx. ₹53,849.36), pre-orders will go live on the 14th of September with shipping beginning in select markets on the 21st of September and more markets will start receiving shipments by the 28th of the month for iPhone XS and XS Max and pre-order will start from October 19, shipping from October
